Mustard Tree

Mustard Tree is a Manchester-based charity with a mission to transform the lives, skills and confidence of people who are trapped in poverty or facing homelessness.

The project involved working with Mustard Tree over a number of months to document their work. The images presented here show staff, volunteers and clients in various contexts - meetings, classes, skills training and one-to-one discussion. Specifically, the images document the relationships between people and the Charity’s practical support, which is designed to encourage aspiration. 

The project was exhibited at Mustard Tree in June 2018.
